New to the fomo app? Start here.

fomo is a social crypto trading app from FOMO Labs. This is an unofficial guide for people who have just heard about it and want to know what it is, whether it is safe, and how to get in and out without losing more than they meant to.

Short version: the app is legit. The memecoins on it mostly are not. Trade with money you can lose.

Sign up on fomo with code cryptofree

Third-party sites report the code gives 10% off fomo’s trading fee. fomo publishes no discount figure anywhere, so the signup screen is the only number that counts. If it shows nothing, you got nothing.

What is the fomo app?

The fomo app is a social crypto trading app from FOMO Labs, a company founded in 2025 by three former dYdX engineers. You fund one balance with Apple Pay, a card, a bank transfer or crypto, then buy and sell tokens across Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain without bridging or holding gas. Around the trading sits a feed of other traders, a leaderboard and alerts. Spot trades cost about 0.45% with gas included.

From curious to first trade

Disclosure: this page contains a referral link. If you sign up through it, this site may earn a share of the fees you pay on fomo. It does not change what we write or what you pay.

  1. Install the app

Both buttons open fomo.family with our referral code, which sends you to the right store for your phone. Only install from the App Store or Google Play; ignore APK mirrors.

iOS, App Store Android, Google Play

  2. Understand what you are signing up for

fomo is a self-custodial app for buying memecoins and other tokens on six chains from one balance, with a social feed of other traders. It is not a bank, and nobody can reverse a bad trade.

  3. Check it is legit and learn the risks

The company is real and well funded. The risk is the market: most memecoins go to zero. Read these two before you put money in.

  4. Join with the referral code

Download from the App Store or Google Play, or use the web app. Sign up with email or Apple ID; there is no KYC and no seed phrase. Enter the code cryptofree if the app asks for one.

  5. Fund it, make a small first trade, and know the way out

Apple Pay is the fastest way in. Start with an amount you would not miss, and read the withdrawal guide before you need it.

What does the fomo app cost?

Spot trades cost about 0.45% of the trade, and network gas is inside that number rather than added on top. That is the headline, and it is the least interesting cost on the page.

Three other things take money out of a trade and none of them is a fomo fee. Slippage is the gap between the price you saw and the price you got, and on a thin memecoin pool it routinely costs more than the fee did. Token tax is a cut that some tokens take on every buy and sell, written into the token itself by whoever created it, and it can run several percent each way. Time is the fourth: a bank withdrawal takes one to five business days, and money you cannot move is money whose price you do not control.

Perpetuals price differently, at 0.05% plus the venue’s own protocol fee, and they are blocked for anyone in the United States. Funding payments on a perp position are separate again and are paid between traders rather than to fomo.

fomo does not charge a subscription, a monthly fee, or anything for holding a coin. What it does not publish is a fee page with numbers on it, so the figure on your confirm screen is the one that is true for you.

Is the fomo app safe, and is it legit?

Those are two questions and they have different answers. fomo is a real company: FOMO Labs, founded in 2025 by three engineers who previously worked at dYdX, with about $94M raised across three rounds and a $75M Series B led by Index Ventures in June 2026. It is not a scam in the sense people usually mean.

Whether it is safe is a different matter. The app is self-custodial, which cuts both ways. Your coins are not sitting on a company balance sheet, so a company failure does not take them. There is also nobody to call when you send money to the wrong place, and no reversal for a trade you regret.

The wallet is created for you by Privy when you sign in with an email code or Apple ID. There is no seed phrase to write down and no KYC to pass. That makes signup fast and it makes your email account the key to your money, which is worth two-factor authentication on the email itself rather than on the app.

The real risk on this app is not the company. It is the market it gives you access to: most memecoins that trend this week are worth close to nothing within a month, and most people trading them lose money.

Is there a fomo app for PC or Windows?

No, and this is the single most common misunderstanding about the product. There is no Windows installer, no Mac download, no .exe and no setup file of any kind from FOMO Labs. Nothing to install exists.

What exists is the fomo web app at fomo.family, launched on 29 April 2026, which runs in any current browser on Windows, Mac, Linux or a Chromebook. It shares the account and balance of the phone app, so you can open a position on one and close it on the other. fomo itself calls it a companion rather than a trading terminal, and that is the right expectation to bring.

Because the demand for a desktop download has no legitimate product to meet it, that gap is where the fakes live. On 25 October 2026 one domain ranking for those searches served Google a redirect to the real fomo.family and sent a Windows browser somewhere else entirely, to a copy of fomo whose only button asked to connect a wallet.

Which is the tell, and it is worth memorising: the real fomo app never asks you to connect an outside wallet. It cannot, because it made your wallet for you. A page using fomo’s name that wants your wallet connected has told you what it is.

How to download the real fomo app

Three routes are real and nothing else is: the Apple App Store, Google Play, and fomo.family in a browser. The buttons at the top of this page go to the first two directly.

Check the publisher name rather than the icon. On iOS the genuine listing reads fomo - never miss out, with a hyphen, published by FOMO Labs, Inc. On Android the package is family.fomo.app. Every fake-app case that did real damage in 2026 was published under a company name with no connection to the product it imitated, and that name was visible on the listing the entire time.

Do not install from an APK mirror. A sideloaded build of a crypto wallet is the worst possible place to take a risk, because the thing you are installing has permission to hold your money and you have no way to verify what is inside it.

If the app is not sold in your country’s App Store, that is a real answer and not a problem to route around. fomo is absent from the United Kingdom, Russia and China storefronts, and a VPN does not change the terms you agreed to.

Getting money in, and getting it out

On iPhone, Apple Pay is the fastest documented route in and fomo says the money is available immediately. The deposit screen also lists a debit card, a bank transfer, a crypto transfer from another wallet, and exchanges and apps including Coinbase, Binance and Cash App.

Crypto deposits arrive on a network you choose, and the minimum differs per network rather than being one number. fomo documents those minimums nowhere, so the deposit screen is the only place to read them. Send on the wrong network and the money does not arrive.

Coming out, a crypto withdrawal takes minutes. A bank withdrawal is the slow one: fomo says within three business days, and the checks behind this site put it closer to one to five. Both numbers are on the withdrawals page with the date each was checked.

The thing worth planning before you deposit is the exit. People size a position by what they are willing to lose and forget to ask how quickly they could get it back, which is a different question with a worse answer.

What you can actually trade on fomo

Spot trading covers tokens across six chains from one balance: Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain. There is no bridging step and no separate gas token to keep topped up, which is the main thing the app does that a plain wallet does not.

Perpetuals launched on 11 June 2026, powered by Hyperliquid and trade[XYZ], and they are the dangerous end of the product. Leverage means a 10% move against a 10x position takes everything behind it. They are not available to U.S. Persons at all.

The perps market list is broader than most people expect. Alongside crypto there are stock, index, commodity and currency perps, which is unusual for an app most people think of as a memecoin tool. fomo publishes no market list of its own, so ours is reconstructed from the two venues that power it.

Since 23 October 2026 you can choose isolated or cross margin on each perp trade. Isolated caps a liquidation at the margin behind one position. Cross lets positions share one pool of collateral, which delays a liquidation and removes the wall between your positions.

The social layer, and why it cuts both ways

fomo calls itself a social trading app and the social part is the product, not a feature bolted on. There is a feed of other people’s trades, a leaderboard, follows and alerts, and theses, which are a trader’s written case for a coin attached to the position itself.

Clans are the team version: groups ranked on combined profit, so your results stop being only yours. fomo has published almost nothing about how they work, which is why the page on them is built from three social posts and a leaderboard counted by hand.

Following someone is not copying them. fomo documents no automatic copy feature, so what you get is alerts and a quick buy button, and the decision stays yours. A $100,000 minimum size filter was added to the following feed on 23 October 2026, which makes the feed considerably more useful: a $200 position tells you nothing about anyone’s conviction.

The honest problem with a feed of winners is that it is a feed of winners. The leaderboard shows the people who are up. It does not show the distribution, and you are not seeing the people who took the same trade and lost.

Who should skip the fomo app

Anyone who cannot afford to lose the money. That sounds like boilerplate and it is not: memecoin trading is speculation at the far end of the risk scale, and the base rate is that most people lose.

Anyone in the United States who came for leverage. Perps are blocked and the block is not something to work around.

Anyone who wants a desktop terminal. The web app is a companion. If you want a grid of charts and one-click execution, other tools do that and fomo says as much itself.

Anyone who wants somebody accountable when it goes wrong. Self-custody means the upside and the downside are both yours. There is no support queue that can reverse a trade, unwind a transfer to a wrong address, or restore access you lost with the email account behind it.

And anyone who thinks the feed is a signal. It is a highlight reel with money attached.

Questions people ask

Is the fomo app free to use?

There is no subscription and nothing to pay to install it or hold a coin. You pay per trade: about 0.45% on a spot trade with gas included, and 0.05% plus the venue’s protocol fee on perps.

Is there a fomo app for PC?

No. There is no Windows installer, Mac download or .exe from FOMO Labs. The desktop version is the web app at fomo.family, which runs in any browser and shares your phone’s account and balance.

Does the fomo app require KYC?

No. You sign up with an email code or an Apple ID, and no identity documents are requested. The wallet is created for you by Privy, so there is also no seed phrase to record.

What does the referral code cryptofree give you?

Third-party sites report that referral codes give 10% off fomo’s trading fee. fomo publishes no discount figure on its own site, so treat the signup screen as the only authority: it shows the discount being applied, and if it shows nothing, nothing was applied.

Can you lose money on the fomo app?

Yes, and most people who trade memecoins do. The app is self-custodial, so no trade can be reversed and no balance is insured. Most tokens that trend in a given week are worth close to nothing within a month.

Memecoin trading is high-risk speculation. Most tokens that trend today are worth close to nothing within weeks, and most people who trade them lose money. fomo does not change that. Nothing on this site is financial advice. If you trade, use money you can afford to lose entirely.
